Transparent Fashion Details

Going through the catwalk shows for next season, I couldn't help but notice the way skin is subtly revealed by sheer fabric details, adding geometry to the whole look and playing up with our perception.

These are my favourite designs, the sexy and rebel style of Peter Dundas for Pucci gives women empowerment. It is suitable for urban landscapes by mirroring beautiful glass buildings that are popping up like mushrooms in the most avant-garde cities in the world.

Christian Dior covered the woman up enhancing the effect of the transparency detail. These dresses are appropriate for soirées where you want to look elegant but without attracting too much attention to yourself.

Across the Atlantic, both Donna Karan and Diane Von Furstenberg have created chic dresses perfect to wear when you go out for dinner with someone special or with potential to become so in the near future.

David Koma has created an abstract and almost surreal effect with sheer fabric while Calvin Klein used transparency to attract the attention to the bosom cutting through the heaviness of the dress.

On the other hand, both Valentino and Gucci have incorporated the blouse into the dress giving it an allure of composure and feminine grace. This transparency trend is predominantly black but my selection would not be complete without a more ethereal version from Antonio Berardi and Marchesa.
